About Alan Bernardo

Alan Bernardo is the General Manager (GM) of Ascend Garden in charge of the vertical aeroponic Tower Garden® technology set-up and maintenance, approaching it with data-driven improvement cycle and controls. He holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt for DMAIC methodology (DMAIC is an acronym pertinent to Six Sigma core tool that stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control) completed at The University of Delaware. 

Alan is the forerunner of Ascend Garden local growers group and business collaborative, as Owner and Operator of Iyon Enterprises. He creates value-add food products from the fresh produce that he is growing in the farm and he also sources key ingredients from local growers in North Texas by working after hours in a food hub and commissary kitchen. He actively builds strategic partnerships with other local farmers, chefs, and creators.   

Alan has a multi-faceted background in banking for over twenty five (25) years with the bulk of his experience spent in Independent Compliance Testing. His recent role is as a Senior Auditor in Enterprise Data Quality for a Fortune 100 company. 

In addition, he was a volunteer servant leader in Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Bear, DE for ten (10) years leading the Youth and Young Adults Groups and has also served as an Elder of the church. He and his family reside in Frisco, TX and are active members in Stonebriar Community Church.
